So I haven’t been as active as I would have liked on this blog, but together with my wife we’ve been trying to buy a restaurant in France, and, well, this is not an easy task… And in the meantime :
I’ve also been trying my hand at coding, like real coding, in Ruby on Rails. And while I have tried coding in JavaScript, Rails feels so much better. I even got an app running by myself… kind of (following a YouTube tutorial).
I also installed a version of Fizzy by 37signals, a Kanban-style app made in Rails that is open source. This way I can modify it to suit my needs and also learn Rails at the same time. The goal is to turn it into a kind of workout repository, so for the foreseeable future I’ll only share my workouts over there. I haven't decided yet if I make it public or not yet...
I’ve found that I like learning while doing. Basically, implementing concepts as I go on a real app feels way better than working or learning with no specific purpose.
